Got it.
Now apply that to political thinking. It was for them, just like the rest of it was for them. “Oh, we’ve got a problem with the king.” These truths are self-evident to them. Why are the founding fathers so dismissed? The last time I ate at Lambert’s they were open for breakfast. So yes, but it’s been a while.
Working in Sikeston, we used to go over at 6am for breakfast but we didn’t make it inside but a couple of times for dinner. The lines in the evening were always too long but you could walk right in and sit down for breakfast if you got there as they opened up.
Breakfast at Lambert’s Cafe: a 1/2-gal glass of milk, enough biscuits and gravy to swim in and a 12-inch diameter “hubcap” cinnamon roll. Yum, yum.
Passed through there a couple of years ago (stayed at the old Ramada across the road) and went over for breakfast but they don’t open until Lunch now. Oh, no.
Glen Beck is on the radio in the morning here now. I thought some of the other talking heads were nuts but Beck takes the rightwing lunacy to new heights.

They used to advertise along highways all over the midwest. Their billboards advertised, “Stop at Lambert’s Cafe in Sikeston, home of throwed rolls”. They were the southern/midwest version of South Dakota’s “Wall Drug”. Similar to the old “Burma Shave” signs.
I saw the signs for years and thought they threw the rolls in the air when they were making them or something. It never occurred to me until I finally walked in their door for the first time that they would throw the rolls AT you.
